Since the demise of my laptop I’ve resorted to demoing new songs on a 4-track tape recorder. The above image is fairly typical of my time at home at the moment, stuck listening back to the random rackets I somehow made. It’s strange having to to catch everything of a song with so few parts. In some ways restrictive and liberating (and very hissy). There’s 2 new songs on that cassette which currently only feature acoustics, an 80’s drum machine, melodica and my voice – but it’s good grounds to build up from.
Tomorrow, Enki will be in the university studio to start recording a proper version of ‘Energy’.
